Top 3 Streamers To Watch When Starting Twitch

When starting out on Twitch.TV, the website can be very daunting in its learning complexity, as most of the important knowledge about how to use it comes with time and experience. With this in mind, people new to the site can greatly benefit from getting some recommendation or guidance on where to look based off your preferences, to eventually find the exact type of stream that suits your interests best. On Twitch there are many categories of streamers to choose from based off the type of the content and streams they provide, so when starting out, these top three streamers will give you a decent representation of a portion of the types of streams to choose from on Twitch. Hopefully you find a streamer you enjoy, and it doesn’t have to be just one, the more you follow the more variety you will have to watch.

1)     XQC

XQC is first on this list for a reason. I have personally been watching him almost since I first started on Twitch and have been watching ever since, although I will warn you, his streams are not for the faint of heart and his attitude may not be to everyone’s preference. XQC is a large variety streamer that really leans in and creates a representation for the younger generation in terms of culture and fads/interest on and off Twitch. What I mean by variety streamer is that he does his best to stream all different types of content possible, through many different video games, interactive activities with chat, reacting to videos, clips, reddit, and drama, as well as some cooking, debates/discussions and IRL/outdoor (In real life) streams. Most streamers usually lean into a niche and choose one of these things for their channel to focus on and be known for, but XQC has grown and evolved over the years to eventually incorporate a little bit of everything. This is part of the main appeal of his stream as well as his ability to provide constant entertainment just based off his own personality, and of course his twitch chat, which is one of the most interesting and unique chats on Twitch. Even for some other variety streamers on this list, they usually focus their variety on a category like gaming or IRL, but XQC excels in all of these and because of that, he has become one of the largest streamers on the platform, and has come a long way from his original path as an Overwatch Pro.

2)     MoonMoon

MoonMoon is another great quality variety streamer but his focus more lies around purely the gaming variety aspect but viewers don’t necessarily watch just due to his skill (although he is quite good at most games) but more for his personality, as is the case with many of the streamers that are able to retain viewers across different categories/games. The main difference between a streamer like MoonMoon and XQC is the way they provide their entertainment. XQC has the ramped up personality type that is loud, full of energy, constantly “getting the juice” and compared to someone like MoonMoon who is a bit calmer and more relaxed during his streams (with obvious exceptions), there is a night and day difference. This will help you see both ends of the streamer spectrum in terms of personalities turned up to 10 or more at a realistic level like MoonMoon, but it just depends what you are looking for. Like XQC, MoonMoon started as a streamer just on the game OverWatch but eventually transcended and grew into a great variety streamer with an amazingly unique chat, profound opinions, and is definitely worth a watch.

3)     Lord_Kebun (or another GTA RP streamer)

A category that is relatively new to Twitch is the realm of GTA RP. (Grand Theft Auto Ropeplay) GTA RP is in essence, the video game GTA but in the setting where one person put together a server where popular streamers can join and create a character to  role-play as on the server to create funny interactions and interesting story lines. It is hard to describe the allure of this category before watching it yourself but It has taken Twitch by storm over the last year or so, usually staying in the top 5 or 10 top viewed categories on the website at all times. It has died down a bit in viewership as of recently but is still going relatively strong with the top consistent streamer in the category, Lord Kebun, usually getting around 18k live viewers per stream, which is quite good. GTA RP is almost an entire entity itself in terms of the variety there is to offer, so if you are indeed interested in this category, but don’t necessarily like the style of someone like Lord_Kebun, there are countless GTA RP streamers with different styles and opinions, and there is bound to be one that fits you perfectly. In this case, Lord_Kebun plays the character Mr.Chang who leads a crime organization known as the Chang Gang, and more focuses on the having fun, goofy side of the RP enjoyment.

The best way to find what type of streamer you like best is to just dive in and try watching some, so whether it’s one of the channels on this list or another streamer you found somewhere else, give them a chance and you may find yourself surprised how much you enjoy things you thought you wouldn’t!
